JINA LA KITABU
Wasakatonge ni jina sadifu kulingana na yale ambayo mwandishi ameyaeleza katika kitabu. Mashairi mengi aliyoyaelezea mwandishi yanawagusa wasakatonge, walalahoi, wanyonge na watu wa tabaka la chini kwa ujumla wake. Katika kitabu kuna shairi la “Wasakatonge” shairi hili linabeba picha halisi ya jina la kitabu. Anazungumzia juu ya hali ngumu ya kimaisha ya watu hawa. Kazi wanazofanya ni ngumu na ujira kidogo. Anaona kuwa hali hii ya baadhi ya wananchi sababu yake ni viongozi wasaliti ambao waliwaweka wenyewe madarakani. Sio tu kwamba jina hili limesadifu tu yaliyo katika kitabu bali pia hata katika jamii. Mambo ya unyanyasaji na ukandamizwaji wa tabaka la chini yameoneshwa makusudi ili jamii iweze kurekebika na wanaohusika na hili wachukue hatua mara moja kupunguza idadi ya walahoi nchini.

Katika mashairi ya kisasa mwandishi ametumia ubunifu zaidi kwani yapo baadhi ya mashairi ambayo ameweka kiitikio mwishoni mwa ubeti mfano shairi la “Sikujua”, “Tutabakia wawili” “Jiwe si mchi”. Pia kuna mashairi mengine kama vile “Wanawake wa Afrika” “Nuru ya tumaini” “Hatuna kauli”.
Mashairi ya kimapokea mfano, “Mahaba”, “mcheza hawi kiwete” “Sivui maji mafu” na mengine.
